Tooth Fairy Day eco-friendly craft

To celebrate National Tooth Fairy Day on February 28, children and their caregivers made tooth and Tooth Fairy straw toppers at Queens Library at Sunnyside, while learning about the importance of dental hygiene. Leaving a tooth under a pillow for the Tooth Fairy is a tradition in American culture when a child loses a tooth, but the custom has European origins. When a child loses a tooth it can be a scary experience, so the promise for a visit from the tooth fairy--along with a special gift in exchange for the tooth--can make it a positive experience.
