On Tuesday July 10th, children at the Woodside Library participated in the READ GREEN activity. During this activity, the children were allowed to choose any "green"/eco themed book and read one page aloud to the audience. The audience favorite was "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" by Suzanne Barchers. The book was about students, who were passionate about their quest to save the earth. They showed ways to recycle cans, bottles and paper. The students in the book also reduced things that they would normally use in abundance, such as water and electricity. Last but not least, they showed the importance of reusing paper. The best part about this activity was that no one was left out. Every child read at their own reading level and was able to communicate the idea behind what they read.
